I love all things fall, and a good pumpkin patch is no exception. There is an especially great pumpkin patch in Camarillo (we call it Pumpkin Hill) that is a lovely backdrop for pictures. The green hillside dotted with orange pumpkins, beautifully blurred out of focus, is a stunning background that lends to images with depth. Subject this cute don’t hurt either…
Being that I have no sewing (or crafting for that matter) ability what-so-ever, I was thoroughly impressed when the Mama of these two cuties told me that she made these costumes herself!
A few images of the surroundings at Pete’s Pumpkin Patch…
I’ll be heading there some time soon with my kiddos for our annual pumpkin patch pics. Here’s to hoping that they cooperate!
I’m a little short on words and long on images today. I’m definitely in the full throws of busy season around here. If you are thinking of having portraits done for the holidays please contact me as soon as possible. My schedule for the rest of 2009 is filling quickly.
This was such a fun (and easy!) session. A cute family + perfect lighting = shots that I love!!
And finally…I know its a little cliche…but what is cuter than a boy and his dog? So sweet…
Thanks so much to the *W* family. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you and I hope you love your images as much as I do!
Better late than never!
Congrats to the *B* family. You guys are now officially entered in the Image of the Month contest. Good luck!
I recently joined Operation: Love ReUnited which is a charitable organization in which professional photographers donate sessions and images to military members and their families. I’ve been looking for a way to give back to the community and I think that this is so perfect!
There are three basic session types. The first is a pre-deployment session which gives the service member images to take with them wherever they may be going. The second is a deployed session where the family of the service person is photographed and an album is sent to the soldier as a surprise/gift. The last type is a reunion session where the photographer goes to the base and photographs the homecoming and actual reunion of the soldier and their family (how emotional!!).
This lovely family had a deployed session. Their Dad/Hubby has been away since July and will be gone for many more months. I had the idea to make signs for these guys to hold in the images to send a sweet little message to Dad in his album. Check it out…
I am honored to be able to offer these sessions. The sacrifice that these service member and their families make is so large that is it almost beyond my comprehension. It is because of these brave people that we are able to live the way we do and for that I am so so grateful! My next Op Love session will be the reunion of a Father with his family (including a brand new baby that he has yet to meet) and I can’t wait. I’m sure I’ll shed a tear or two!
