  • I believe in happy families, dinners together,
and that when it comes right down to it,
the little things are really the big things.

In the whirlwind of parenthood, from the
sleepless newborn nights to the busy days
    of scraped knees and Band-Aids,
your memories are the only things
    that last. Revel in them.

{Merry Christmas} Camarillo Photographer

First of all I’d like to say Merry Christmas to you!  I feel quite blessed this Christmas as I celebrate with my family and two little sweeties.  I’d also like to announce the recipient of my ‘2009 Giving is Awesome’  contest.  I received a lovely and heartfelt email from one of my clients who is a teacher and she nominated a child who is in her class…

Hi Daniele,

I’d like to nominate a local family for your custom photo session.  One of my 4th grade students, Gabriel, tragically lost his father this past September.  His father was 32 years old; married with four children.

All of the teachers had wonderful things to say about what a wonderful father Gabriel’s father was.  He was very involved and supportive in his children’s education.  Whenever there was a school function- Back to School Night, parent conferences, a class party, or a field trip, Gabriel’s father was there.  Gabriel’s father always helped Gabriel with his homework, especially in math.

Gabriel is such a special student.  He has such a positive attitude about everything.  He’s a soccer player and a great one.  Everyone in the class loves Gabriel.  Out of all of the 4th grade students in my class, he reads at the highest reading level . He has the brightest smile and the warmest heart.

This family deserves to be chosen for your special artwork.  I think about how pictures can bring up so many wonderful emotions, especially your pictures.  How excited I was when you sent me the digital picture of Baby Charlie!  I couldn’t stop smiling! I remember feeling so happy and excited for Dan to come home to see this precious picture of his little boy.  I also remember e-mailing this picture to my Dad and receiving his response about tears coming to his eyes the first time he saw the pic.  The moments you capture on camera are priceless. I can’t think of a better Christmas present for this family.

Thank you for giving to the community, Daniele.

Take care,

Anna

Can you imaging a more deserving family?  I certainly can’t and I’ll soon be contacting Gabriel’s mom to let her know that she will be receiving the gift of custom portraiture.  I hope that this will bring a bit of brightness to her day in the midst of such a hard time for her and her family.  Pictures to follow of course!

{Giving Is Awesome} Ventura Photographer

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1000 worth, to be exact.  I want to give them a custom photo session, complete with the digital files so that they’re able to cherish the images of their family for generations to come.  It’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a complimetary session as well. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Ventura County.  Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

*  Please include a snapshot of the family if you can.

*  You must e-mail me the full story:  info@danielerosephotography.com

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Daniele

And because I CAN NOT post with out a picture, here are my two little cuties.  Let me tell you that *I* will cherish these images forever!

{Beach Boy} Camarillo Children’s Photographer

I always feel like I should be careful this time of year when I’m sharing images on the blog.  I don’t want to give a sneak peek of images that my client’s might want to use for their holiday cards…ruins the surprise!  So here are some carefully selected images from a sweet family who I had the opportunity to photograph recently.

The thing that I love about photographing families is being able to capture the stage that the family is currently in.  As a mother myself I know how time *flies* by.  Especially now that we have two little sweet peas the days are just a blur; a wonderful and happy blur, but a blur none the less.  Having photographs to document the stages that your family passes through is just so precious.  As time passes memories fade and having something tangible to hold in your hands is an incredible way to help you relive the beautiful little slices of time that otherwise may wither.

Mason is at such a fun age!  He is full of energy and laughter and had a great time exploring the beach.  This age is always a little tricky when it comes to pictures.  Two year olds really couldn’t care less about sitting still and posing for the camera.  Thankfully I’m quick 🙂  And anyway, I think documenting moments in your family’s history should be telling of what your family was actually like at that time.  And right now I would have to say that Mason is spunky…

I love the last shot.  So telling of their family at the present.  Just think…someday maybe they’ll have this same picture with another pair of little feet there too!

Thanks so much to the “S” family.  I’m glad that we were able to shoot these on such a gorgeous day!

{Lovely Mama & Her Sweet Boy} Camarillo Family Photographer

I had such a fun time hanging out with these two at the beach the other day.  I just love the fact that in Southern California we can get these images…in November!  Just think, a good part of the country is shoveling snow (believe me, I know…I was once in that boat!) while we have our toes in the nice warm sand.  Now that is something that I’m thankful for!

This little guy has the most unbelievable green eyes…

We also shot at the beach but there are just so many cute ones from this session that I’m having a hard time narrowing them down for the sneak peek.  If I start posting the beach shots I may end up being here all night!

Happy Birthday little Mr. Myles.  You were a dream to work with and I look forward to seeing you grow!
